John Cooke found guilty on an indictment for the highway robbery of John Daniel in the parish of Banstead on 2nd February 1739: robbing him of a silver watch (valued at £3), 1 gold guinea, 1 gold half guinea and 9/6 in money numbered.  He was also found guilty on a indictment for the highway robbery of John Brooke also in the parish of Banstead on 22nd February 1738: robbing him of a silver watch (valued at £3), 2 gold guineas, a gold half guinea and 11/- in money numbered.
